Internet Providers: Broadband Internet Providers

Cable Internet service providers cost less than other broadband Internet service providers. Not only are cable ISPs considerably faster and available to a much larger population, but their installation is very simple and easy to get started. On the other hand, if you're just looking for a cheap Internet service provider, and don't care about the benefits of high speed Internet access, you may consider looking into dial-up connections, which charge about $10 to $30 per month for an unlimited plan. Furthermore, for the ultimate low costing Internet access, there are free ISPs. However, with these free ISPs, don't expect much extra value, and do expect a lot of ads.
Iraqi Internet customers can often choose from several wireless broadband providers in each neighborhood. They buy a small dish antenna for about $100 from a store or service provider. The antenna receives a signal from a tower owned by a provider such as Sa'ad. Companies compete on price, connection speeds and customer service.

During the markup, the committee voted 11 to 11 on the amendment offered by Senators Snowe and Dorgan to dramatically increase federal regulation on the way broadband Internet providers treat digitized data. Therefore, the amendment was not included in the final bill. The following comment may be attributed to Mike McCurry, Co-Chairman of the Hands Off The Internet coalition (http://www.handsoff.org):

Choosing an Internet service provider (ISP) is a lot like choosing a cell-phone service. There are many regional differences since cable broadband service piggybacks onto your cable TV service; dial-up, DSL and broadband fiber depend in part on the reliability of your local phone company. Accordingly, massive customer surveys are one of the best ways to evaluate Internet service providers. Consumer Reports polled more than 34,000 subscribers, asking about the best ISPs. J.D. Power and Associates solicited responses from over 16,000 residential ISP customers, including both dial-up and broadband (cable and DSL) users. PC World and PC Magazine ... survey readers to find the best -- and fastest -- ISPs.
HughesNet internet service When you are looking at what satellite internet providers have to offer you want to make sure that you are looking at service features that matter. All satellite internet providers will offer you both broadband internet and high-speed internet service. However, the connection speeds and optional features that are offered by each service plan will impact how much the service costs and how good the service is. At first glance some services may seem unusually high for internet service. For example the professional service package offered by Hughesnet can cost as much as $59.95 per month. However, if you don’t need all of the bells and whistles offered by this professional package then you have two cheaper service packages that you can choose from.
