Net Neutrality (wikipedia entry here) is the current long wave issue on the Internet. Essentially, the issue is whether Congress should enact legislation that would prohibit telecommunications carriers from charging large Internet sites (Google, Yahoo, MSN) a premium for access. The carriers argue that these sites require more resources to support and therefore should be charged more.
