Independence Air announced Tuesday it will add twice-daily nonstop service to Las Vegas from Washington Dulles starting March 1, 2005. Las Vegas will be the 41st city serviced by the low-cost carrier.

US Senator Charles E. Schumer today welcomed Independence Air to Stewart Airport by bringing the airline's Director of Corporate Communications, Rick DeLisi, to the area to unveil a new jet and meet with local business leaders. Schumer said it was important to introduce DeLisi to the Hudson Valley community to encourage close relationships between the airline and local business leaders to maximize the benefit of the new affordable air service to the area economy.

Starting Oct. 1, Huntsville travelers can fly on Independence Air to its hub at Dulles International Airport near Washington, D.C., for as low as $69 one-way and no higher than $129 one-way. The airline plans six daily nonstop flights to Dulles with connecting flights from there to 30 cities across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
