---The BET Relief Telethon' on September 9 for Hurricane Katrina victims---It will be a night like no other to help victims cope with a disaster like no other. BET will bring together stars of music and entertainment in alliance with the National Urban League, American Red Cross, Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, Essence Communications and major recording labels for a primetime telethon to raise much needed aid for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The telethon is set for Friday, September 9 on BET, including Wynton Marsalis, Master P, David Banner, Juvenile, Baby and Lil Wayne (Cash Money) along with Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons, Alicia Keys, Diddy, Jay Z, Kanye West, Island Def Jam Music Group Chairman Antonio "L.A." CLEVELAND, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hurricane Katrina survivors arriving at evacuee sites currently located in Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Utah and Washington will benefit from $100,000 in Key Foundation donations dispersed within KeyBank communities from Maine to Alaska. In tandem with this funding increase, KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) will direct much of its upcoming national day of volunteerism, Neighbors Make the Difference Day, towards hurricane relief. As well, Key employees donating to charitable organizations supporting hurricane relief efforts are receiving a dollar for dollar match in accordance with the Key Foundation Matching Gift Program.

Hurricane victims may ... find comfort in any one of the Recovery Assistance Centers that The Salvation Army has opened. In an effort to transition from critical disaster relief to second phase recovery, the assistance centers will provide food, paper products, toiletries, baby care items, clean-up kits, bottled water, cash vouchers for perishable food or other needs based on availability, and other needed items.

COLUMBUS, Ga., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac announced today the company will continue its ongoing commitment to assist Hurricane Katrina victims with a $1 million contribution to the American Red Cross. The Columbus, Ga.-based insurer earmarked the donation to the charitable organization for immediate relief efforts to help displaced residents of the hurricane-stricken Gulf Coast. A total of $800,000 will go to the national headquarters of the Red Cross to provide support to affected parishes and counties. The remaining $200,000 will go to the West-Central Georgia chapter of the Red Cross to aid Katrina evacuees who have been relocated to Columbus, Ga. and surrounding areas.
