After appearing in Rocky 3, Hulk Hogan went on to fight in the AWA where he became a good guy. As the top hero, he was constantly thwarted by Nick Bockwinkle in his quest to win the AWA title. He left due to money issues and was hired by the new head of the WWF, Vince McMahon. With the spread of cable TV, wrestling shows became national and Vince wanted Hulk to be the face of his company.

On a recent episode of VH1's reality TV show “Hogan Knows Best” (VH1 Sundays at 10:00pm), wrestling strongman Hulk Hogan's sixteen-year-old daughter was preparing to go on her first date. Like any dad with a 16-year-old child, Hogan was concerned about his daughter's dating safety. After weighing his options, he decided she could go, but he wanted to be able to track his daughter's whereabouts during the date. And he found a way - with Mobile Guardian.

According to various reports, Hulk Hogan was approached by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2003 regarding appearing at a planned event titled Bound for Glory, a three hour pay per view event in October meant to be the annual alternative. Hogan willingly took a guitar shot from Jarrett during a press conference in Japan to hype the storyline, but withdrew from negotiations citing knee problems that would require surgery and would prevent him from participating. "I was getting ready to go to TNA, was hoping of working with Jarrett and those guys, and giving Vince a run for his money one more time," said Hulk Hogan on the Main Event radio show in December 2006. The footage of Jarrett breaking a guitar over Hogan's head was thereafter frequently used by TNA.

As promotion for the Wrestlemania event in 1985 Hulk Hogan appeared on a talk show called "Hot Properties". The show's host Richard Belzer wanted Hulk to show everyone a wrestling hold during the show. Hogan put a headlock on Belzer and must have accidently applied too much pressure because Belzer was knocked unconscious and hit his head on a table. Belzer's head was busted open and he needed stitches to close the wound.

After drawing energy from Hulkamania, Hulk Hogan showed he was capable of living forever. The fact Hogan is still alive when every other wrestler his age should be dead has convinced non believers. The only other exception is Father Time himself Ric Flair.
