1. Howard Read -- Big Howard
   By Carol Howard - 5/31/2007 Dave, Carol, John and Duane enjoyed a beautiful 3 bedroom cottage at Crystal Mountain Resort while attending the Great Lakes Region's Spring Conference held May 21st and 22nd. The big draw was Floyd Wickman, well known and respected teacher and trainer and Hall of Fame member of the National Speakers Association. Everyone enjoyed the working part of the conference as well as the play!
2. Howard Rollins -- Ryan Howard
   Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins were the MVP's in the National League over the past few seasons. Who will win this year? They'd like to either share the award or share it with teammate Chase Utley.
3. Ron Howard -- Clint Howard
   A signature Ron Howard moment occurs about a quarter of the way through his new film, "The Missing.'' That moment is the appearance of his brother, Clint, in a character role. This time, Clint plays a none-too-helpful sheriff. At least he doesn't play a nerd, as he often has in the past.
4. Howard Clark -- Clark Howard
   Year after year, Howard Clark presided over the festivities. Because of Clark’s sincerity and dedication to the cause, Lewis Rector, one of the other officers of the Emancipation Association, jokingly called him “Mr. Emancipator.” The nickname stuck and for years, especially on Emancipation Day, that is how people referred to him. Clark’s name was forever joined with that of the Emancipation Association. For decades, he and his fellow officers served alternating terms as president, secretary, and treasurer.
5. Little Howard -- Big Howard Little Howard
   The Big Howard Little Howard Show was a unique combination of stand-up comedy and live, interactive animation where Read performs with a cast of animated characters which he writes, voices and animates himself. The star of the show is Little Howard, Read's six year old alter-ego who can respond to audience questions using a complex data-base of animated routines. This and Howard's other festival shows Howard Read: Words and Pictures (2002) and At Home With The Howards (2004) received rave reviews and ongoing interest from television companies both here and in the US. Howard can (and does) claim to have created a completely new genre in live entertainment.
6. Little Howard
   Little Howard is in a coma, his condition constantly monitored on the inspired 'comacam'. The only thing that can wake him up is laughter. Cue a series of sketches, songs, audience play and a splat of satire that can't possibly fail.
7. Howard University
   Fannie Mae, Howard University, and officials in Washington, D.C., are in the process of completing the renovation of a historic neighborhood in the Northwest part of the Nation's Capital. LeDroit Park was once a thriving black community, but the neighborhood eventually declined, resulting in rows of abandoned houses. But one resident, 82-year old Lillian Robinson, refused to leave, and now the million-dollar project by Howard University and Fannie Mae will give her neighbors. Howard agreed to renovate the 28 abandoned properties and 17 vacant lots it owns, and Fannie Mae contributed $20 million to the project to work with the D.C. Housing Finance Agency in providing mortgages at below-market interest rates. Howard will pay up to 3 percent of the purchase price, which starts at $70,000, and the homes will be offered first to Howard University staff, D.C. police officers, and other local community members. Howard President H. Patrick Swygert says further efforts are possible, and officials hope the program will become a national symbol of urban revitalization.
8. Leslie Howard
   Leslie Howard, 50, is one of the most accomplished American show jumping riders. A member of the gold medal winning team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the silver medal winning team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Howard's record ... boasts a 1986 World Cup Final win in Gothenburg, Sweden. To date, she has 19 Nations Cup wins and 15 wins in World Cup qualifying competitions. When she was a junior rider, Leslie won the ASPCA Maclay equitation championship. In addition to her own impressive career, Howard has mentored top riders such as Judy Garofalo, Nicole Shahinian Simpson and Molly Ashe. This is Leslie's fourth year competing at the Syracuse Invitational.
9. Howard Read
   Howard Read is a British comedian and aspiring song writer best known for his work with his animated sidekick, Little Howard. His other creations include an angry manager with a conversational style and the worldview of Bernard Manning, Roger T Pigeon, and H:BOT 2000, a robot from the future. Each of these characters interact with both Big Howard and each other.
10. Ron Howard
    Although Ron Howard was born (on March 1, 1954) in Duncan, Oklahoma, from an early age he made Hollywood his home. He shot his first motion picture at four and played major television roles at five. Before his sixth birthday he had found a permanent place for himself in American popular culture by creating the role of Opie on The Andy Griffith Show. Later, through his starring roles in the landmark film, American Graffiti, and the hit television series, Happy Days, he came to represent the perennial American teenager. But even in his teen years, Howard had a long-range goal: to trade the glare of the spotlight for a quieter but equally creative life behind the camera.
