The 2008 Houston Astros baseball schedule will be the start of a new era. Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio, two of the “Killer B’s,†have retired, and Cecil Cooper is the new manager of the ‘Stros. This team looks quite different from the one that went to the World Series in 2005, but they are still a contender to go back to the postseason this year. With Carlos Lee, Darin Erstad and Lance Berkman swinging the bats, the Astros will put plenty of runs on the board and the pitching staff led by Roy Oswalt should be solid. GoTickets.com has Astros baseball tickets for every game this season at Minute Maid Park.

The 2006 MLB season wasn’t what the Houston Astros had hoped for – they didn’t make it to the World Series. They did ... finish a respectable second place in the National League Central with a win average of .506. Despite Jeff Bagwell’s retirement and the loss of Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte to free agency, Astros fans are hoping that the additions of Carlos Lee, Woody Williams, Jason Jennings and Miguel Asencio will be enough to get them to World Series 2007. 2007 might also mark the last year of Craig Biggio’s 20 year stint with the Astros. The stands are filling fast at Minute Maid Park, and you don’t want to miss this celebrated player’s last games – so be sure to reserve your tickets today!

The pride of South Texas, the Houston Astros are one of baseball's powerhouses. The franchise was started in 1962 as the Houston Colt .45's. Renamed as the Astros in 1965, they were as famous for their pitching as they were for their bats and gloves. A slew of famous Astro pitchers, from Nolan Ryan to Mike Scott, have been proud to call Houston home.
