The Hoosier Lottery, which does not offer Keno and video lottery terminals, as some other states do, grossed about $740 million in revenue in fiscal 2005. That's up $130 million, or 21 percent, from the lottery's revenues 10 years ago.

'Hoosier Lotto' logo The Hoosier Lottery is run by the state of Indiana. It is the only lottery in the United States that uses the state's nickname, rather than the state name itself, as its name. It is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL). Its games include Hoosier Lotto, Powerball, Lucky 5, and numerous scratch games. It is unlikely to add Hot Lotto (as it has an in-state annuitized jackpot game) or any other MUSL game in the near future.
Since the inception of the Hoosier Lottery in 1989, $3.2 billion has been transferred to the State of Indiana. This money is allocated to the Teachers' Retirement Fund, Pension Relief Fund for police officers and fire fighters, and reduces excise taxes for Hoosiers through the Build Indiana Fund.
