Honda’s redesigned 2008 Accord sedan and coupe now have a price, and both go on sale soon, Sept. 12 and 20, respectively. Honda says the average price is up $600 across the line compared to the 2007s, while adding $1,400 in standard equipment. Those numbers seem about right, as the base LX with manual transmission starts at $20,360, not including destination. The top of the line EX-L coupe with a V-6 engine caps the range at $30,510.

In 1999 Honda began selling the Insight which was the first hybrid vehicle on the market. Power is derived from a combination of a 1.0L 3-cylinder gasoline engine, and a large NiMH battery pack providing power-assist during acceleration. This computer-controlled combination provided acceptable performance with exceptionally low fuel consumption and emissions. Honda's hybrid power train is now an available option for the Civic and Accord.

The Honda Racing F1 Team did not want to be bogged down managing infrastructure, therefore the fact that DataCore's SANmelody software was simple to implement and use meant that they did not have to become storage experts. Other factors that tipped the purchasing decision were, according to the IT team at the Honda Racing F1 Team, the quality of DataCore's people as well as the price-performance of the technology that out-paced the competition.

As the first Accord sedans began rolling off the line Nov. 1, 1982, Honda associates who were building cars in small numbers with nearly identical content and in only a few colors ... had little manufacturing experience. In the last two months of 1982, fewer than 1,000 Accords were produced as the associates focused on mastering their car-building skills. By the end of 1982, they were making 160 cars per day.
