Hominid

The term Hominid is a reduction of the term Hominidae and refers to all of the fossil and living bipedal apes including the Australopithecines, fossil members of the genus Homo and living humans. For a more detailed discussion of its use in modern science refer to Hominin.
Hominid plays out like the old-school side scrolling shooters; move left to right, shoot things, and avoid being shot. However, that’s a lot easier said than done, as the game it’s incredibly difficult and challenging, as old-school shooters were. In addition, there’s plenty of game variation to keep from being the same old thing level after level, whether its shooting the Russian KGB soldiers in the snow, a side-scrolling variation of Grand Theft Auto, or infiltrating Area 51 with an eyeball. The game is an absolute blast to play, difficulty aside. Hominid is ... filled with humorous events, too, to take your mind off the frustration. Many of the buildings in the first world have names that will cause many double takes by the players.

Hominid fossil remains are precious. Complete skeletons are extraordinarily rare before recent times. Teeth and lower jaws, and the facial and upper cranial bones of the skull, are the most common fossils to survive from any period. Skulls are almost never found intact but must be reconstructed from fragments. Thigh bones are next most often retrieved, while remains of the feet, hands, pelvis or spine are extremely rare.

Hominid encourages the player to come up with more inventive ways to dispose of enemies, by offering Style Points in return. Along with an Enemy and Boss Bonus, Style Points count towards your overall score.

Human and gorilla skeleton A hominid is any member of the biological family Hominidae (the "great apes"), including the extinct and extant humans, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans. This classification has been revised several times in the last few decades. These various revisions have led to a varied use of the word "hominid": The original meaning of Hominidae referred only to the modern meaning of Hominina, including only humans and their closest relatives. The meaning of the taxon changed gradually, leading to the modern meaning of "hominid" in which it includes all great apes.
Students then analyze primate and hominid skeletons for differences related to bipedal locomotion. They propose their own hypotheses for the selective advantages of bipedal locomotion prior to examining the hypotheses of three anthropologists.
