The Homeschooling list is for anyone who has chosen to Homeschool their Children, or are considering doing so in the future. Not a Christian specific list. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of Homeschooling. What are the positives and negatives of schooling this way? How does it work for you? Talk to other Homeschoolers and meet some new friends, discussion is open.
Homeschooling is not a one-size fits all type of education. Children's learning styles are as varied as the biggest box of crayons one can find. Read more about homeschooling methods from an article written by April Morris.

There are various social opportunities available to partake of. Most of these social opportunities are family oriented though. However, this can be good since they can be easily incorporated into your lesson plans. You will ... find that most of these activities are inexpensive or even free as well.

These include establishing an honor society for homeschoolers, promoting homeschooling through media coverage, developing new programs for homeschoolers, and assisting homeschoolers who lost curriculum materials in wildfires.

But by the beginning of the twentieth century, schools had become commonplace and states had adopted compulsory school attendance laws. Only a few states allowed homeschooling as an exception to the attendance requirement. A few more required parents only to educate their children, without specifying the means.

Homeschool Blogads logo.jpg Homeschooling is often thought of as a white phenomenon. It first emerged as a white, left-wing, hippie way of life, said Ronald Butchart, an education historian at the University of Georgia. When desegregation came, it became an excuse for white parents to pull their children out of school to keep them away from black children, he added.
