The Holiday Inn Laurel West is a full service hotel situated midpoint on the Baltimore-Washington, DC corridor catering to both business and leisure travelers. The hotel features 207 guest rooms, business center, fitness facility and indoor pool. MHI Hospitality Corporation implemented an extensive renovation of the asset in September 2005, which included complete guest room package replacement, dramatic redesign of the public space, meeting rooms and exterior, as well as the addition of a new hotel Café and Outback Steakhouse. Renovations were completed in Spring 2006.

On New Year's Eve, Holiday Inn opens. Jim and Linda open the evening's show with "Happy Holiday", which then becomes "(Come to) Holiday Inn". In New York, Ted learns that Lila is leaving him for a Texas millionaire. He drinks heavily and heads out to Holiday Inn to talk with Jim. Back at the inn, Jim and Linda, working in the kitchen together, sing "Let's Start the New Year Right." At midnight, they rejoin the crowd. Drunk, Ted arrives just as the clock strikes twelve.

Craig H. Hunt, formerly President of Holiday Inn, North America, has been promoted to a new position of Vice Chairman, reporting to Thomas R. Oliver, Chairman and CEO. The Village Inn and Restaurant was renamed "Holiday Inn" after the release of the 1942 film Holiday Inn starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. It had been operating as The Village Inn since 1908. This Irving Berlin musical was actually about a hotel that was open only on holidays. See Holiday Inn at the Internet Movie Database. As of 2007 the hotel has been restored and is operating as the Village Inn and Restaurant.
