Hitman

Based on the top-selling, award-winning videogame franchise, the "Hitman" is a genetically-engineered, elite assassin known only as Agent 47. His hallmarks are a lethal grace, unwavering precision, and resolute pride in his work. But even 47 couldn't anticipate a "random equation" in his life of exactitude: the unexpected stirrings of his conscience and the unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a mysterious Russian woman. Agent 47 is a mysterious and complex man of profound contradictions: He was bred from the world's deadliest criminals, but raised by an exiled brotherhood of the Church. His very existence seems to be a sin, but he wages a quiet war to rid the world of evil. He's brilliant, charismatic and charming--yet reveals little about himself, has no name and is known only by the last two digits of a barcode tattooed on the back of his head.

The protagonist of the video game series Hitman is a genetically-engineered assassin, known only as Agent 47. 47 is highly regarded in the criminal underworld, so much that many consider him to be a myth. The gameplay revolves around infiltrating an area, executing a target (or targets), and escaping without apprehension. Although not compulsory, the Hitman games encourage the player to use stealth and cunning to kill targets rather than firepower. A film adaption was released in 2007, which deviated widely from its source material.
Gens is a decent visual stylist and "Hitman" has a slick feel to it, lifting inspiration from a number of sources, including the game itself and the "Bourne" series. The action sequences are mostly well done, except when they devolve into hand-to-hand, when they suddenly and inexplicable become leaden and clumsy. Logic is ... not a particular friend of the film, but considering how preposterous the premise is, that's not an out and out deal breaker.

"Hitman" has all the emotional depth, complicated plot development and concern for the human condition of a video game. If the movie were not based on a video game, that would be a kick in the pixels.
Hitman 2's storyline begins in a Sicilian monastery. His attempt to distance himself from his violent past is detoured as he is discovered by a Russian crime lord and tricked into returning to his trade. Caught in the middle of a ring of deception, Hitman soon discovers that he has been manipulated and is now a target himself - of a highly trained ex-Spetsnaz assassin.

Hitman can be played in either a stealth or assault manner. The purpose for this new release of the three latest Hitman-games is to introduce new players to the series as well as giving old players one Hitman-package. The compilation ... includes a Kane & Lynch: Dead Men bonus disc with some special features.[5]
