(Hitler's concept of holy blood comes right out of the Bible. The Bronze-Age Bible authors thought that the spirit of life consisted of blood. (See Leviticus 17:11, 14). In the New Testament, God made of one blood all nations of men..." (See Acts 17:24-26). The Biblical Paul saw himself as "pure from the blood of all men." (Acts 20:26). Hitler here sees blood (life) preservation as a holy right to produce images of the Lord.

Hamann helps clear up a number of myths about Hitler's early development, but the only really significant revelation concerns Hitler's anti-Semitism during his time in Vienna. Hitler claimed in Mein Kampf that he became devoted to anti-Semitism while in Vienna, and although historians are incredulous about Hitler's "reminiscences," most have accepted this, since it seems so plausible. Vienna was a cesspool of anti-Semitism in the early twentieth century. The incredibly popular mayor of Vienna, Karl Lueger, used anti-Semitic propaganda to further his political career, the Pan-German press (which Hitler read) was spewing forth anti-Semitism, and Vienna had a much larger and more visible Jewish population than any major German city. Interestingly... only one source from his Vienna days reports that Hitler was anti-Semitic at all and several vociferously deny it.

Hitler served in France and Belgium in the 16th Bavarian Reserve Regiment (called Regiment List after its first commander). He was a runner, the most dangerous job on the Western Front, and was often exposed to enemy fire.[18]

This Third Battle of Ypres, better known as the Battle of Passchendale, in which Remark and Hitler both fight, becomes abhorrence beyond description with gas, tanks - and incessant rain. After hundred days of fighting in the Flemish mud the allies have advanced eight kilometers. Five hundred thousand young men on both sides are either dead or wounded.

He ... tempered what might be taken as a 'libertarian' definition of inventiveness with a somber collectivism." Believing that socially useful creativity was "the product of individual geniuses of high personality value," Hitler supported equal social opportunity for all, and opposed legal and social barriers to individual economic achievement and success. Governmental and social policies, he believed, should encourage merit-based social mobility.
