Hiroshima: Hiroshima City
built 268 days ago
The Japanese city of Hiroshima (広島市 Hiroshima-shi) is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture, and the largest city in the Chūgoku region of western Honshū, the largest of Japan's islands. It is famous for its historic castles, beautiful landscape, friendly people, and being utterly wiped from the face of this god-forsaken earth by an all-devouring fire sent straight from the merciless bowels of the darkest hell.
T[H]e city of Hiroshima is on the main island of Honshu and looks over the Seto Inland Sea. The city is rich in nature with its surrounding mountains and many rivers. Hiroshima experiences the beauty of changing seasons.
With a population of more than one million, Hiroshima looks just like any other up-and-coming city in Japan. With modern buildings, industry, the manufacture of cars, and ships, it's a city full of vitality and purpose with a steady flow of both Japanese and foreign business executives in and out.

Hiroshima was founded in 1589, on the coast of the Seto inland sea, and became a major urban center during the Meiji period. The city is located on the broad, flat delta of the Ota River, which has 7 channel outlets dividing the city into six islands which project into Hiroshima Bay. The city is almost entirely flat and only slightly above sea level; to the northwest and northeast of the city some hills rise to 700 feet.
