The Janet/Nelly duet is the music icon's 15th Number One and 30th Top 10 single on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Janet is now tied with R. Kelly for scoring the most Top 10 singles since "Billboard" began compiling its information from Nielsen SoundScan data in 1992. She tops the R&B chart, in existence for 64 years, ahead of all artists since 1984.

Hip-hop artist and activist Kamikaze of Jackson, MS, was suspended indefinitely from the Kim Wade Show on Jackson’s WJNT-Talk radio (1180 AM) for anti-Bush comments. Following a monthlong tour of the Czech Republic, Kamikaze was set to return as Wade’s co-host, but was informed just moments before going on the air. The reprimand, which stemmed from one angry listener, was based on comments Kamikaze made in his blog www.jacksonfreepress.com/comments/php?id=14578_0_67_15_C and column www.jacksonfreepress.com/comments/php?id=14687_0_7_0_C in the Jackson Free Press.

In addition to the continuous musical performances, Kalle Kaliente will ... provide a platform for amateur DJs, MCs and B-Boys to go head to head at the Kalle Kaliente Battle Stage. The winner in each category will earn a cash prize and a spot in the Kalle Kaliente finals in Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, winners from around the country will compete for the national Kalle Kaliente championship. Graffiti artists will "perform" as they spray their cans of paint on an oversized canvas live at the event. There will also be booths serving Latino fare.

A good example of how rap music and hip hop has cut across ethnic boundaries can be found in the Asian community. In Los Angeles, there is a blossoming Asian American rap scene, consisting of groups like Bubula Tribe, Undercover, Asiatic Apostles, Brotherhood from Another Hood, the Seoul Brothers, Lani Luv, and the Boo-Yaa Tribe. These groups represents various styles. Messages range from social issues such as hate crimes against Asians to relationships between blacks and Koreans in nearly every major city.21 White rappers such as The Beastie Boys, 3rd Bass, and Vanilla Ice have ... had success in the industry. Cypress Hill, Fat Joe, and Big Punisher, are Latino artists who have impacted the hip hop culture.22 The overall message of this music is the same. It is cool, didactic, and unabashedly rebellious.
