Most teachings of Hinduism are embodied in the Vedas and other literature. Within this article there are links to some of these works as well as other aspects of Hinduism, other aspects may be found in this encyclopedia's Hinduism section. Contained in the articles of this section will be descriptions of the different aspects of the subject. Since previously stating that Hinduism cannot be defined this seems the most practical approach. Hinduism is presented because it has developed many mystics and yoga techniques, and not to mention many occultists were interested in it.

In Hinduism, Yoga is considered to be the ultimate way of attaining spiritual goals. The earliest written accounts of yoga appear in the Rig Veda, which began to be codified between 1500 and 1200 BCE.

Because the same eternal spiritual truths can be viewed from innumerable perspectives, there is relatively little theological quarrel among Hindu denominations.[68] However, some denominations may be more inclined toward this all-inclusive attitude than others. For instance, although followers of Advaita Vedanta and Smartism often place heavy emphasis on the view that God can be worshipped in any form, many members of the Vaishnava sect believe that spiritual liberation can be attained only through submission to God in the form of Vishnu.[69]

Hinduism has developed from the assimilation of indigenous beliefs of the peoples of India. To this were added the beliefs of aryan immigrants whose wisdom was contained in their books, the Vedas (knowledge - RigVeda being the principal one). Hinduism cannot be ascribed to any single person, it has no single principal holy book - It has many, with all of them believed to be pointing to the same ultimate truth.
