  1. High Times -- High Times Magazine
To cater to it’s more hardcore pot-growing fan base, High Times created the quarterly supplement called Grow America, which was more like the original format of the magazine. Despite what sounds like positive changes as far as I’m concerned, the magazine still wasn’t performing financially. So in January of 2005, they switched formats again, proudly proclaiming “The Buds Are Back!” It’s back to marijuana covers, lots of photos of plants and information on growing with very little of anything else - at least compared to their format under Mailer. What we’re left with seems to be a magazine that has been re-tooled to fit the times a little better, yet still catering to the hardcore stoner audience which composes it’s longtime core. Going back to the Camille Dodero piece, she writes that they are attempting to cater more to the 18-25 year old audience, with shorter articles, more sidebar, more pop culture content. So far it’s paying off, according to this article.
  2. Gabrielle Union -- High School
Best known for roles in Bad Boys and Bring It On, Gabrielle Union is a beautiful actress and model who has dated a number of notable athletes. In fact, she was married for four years to Chris Howard of the Jaguars… and went out with Jason Kidd in high school. She’s ... been linked to Javon Walker. And Ludacris.
  3. The Cars -- Technology
[C]ontributing to this trend is that some cars lose a lot of their resale value because of technology features that become obsolete, and lower-priced cars tend to have fewer of such amenities. For instance, when vehicles with older in-dash navigation systems are replaced by those with slicker, updated units, the older cars drop further in value. But, lower-priced cars usually forgo high-tech gadgets and include mostly basic, essential features. As a result, they tend not to have inflated sticker prices caused by a glut of expensive options and therefore don't have as far to fall in terms of resale values.
  4. Terrence Malick -- James Jones
In Badlands, his first feature-length film, Malick inaugurates what will be his lifelong portrait of the American frontier and the loneliness therein. The story follows the infamous true tale of Charlie Starkweather, who, in collusion with his 14-year-old girlfriend, went on a pointless killing spree in the upper Midwest, becoming an archetype of the futile murderer in American mythology. The character here — Kit Carruthers, played with deadpan gravity by Martin Sheen — is a self-deceiving loser who can’t come to terms with his own life in a small town in the dry Midwest. Kit’s lowly status as a garbage man in the middle of nowhere is totally at odds with his own self-image — he cultivates a vague resemblance to James Dean by slicking back his hair, squinting, leaning on cars, and putting cigarettes in his sleeve. The appearance seems genuine at first, but we’re provided with glimpses that indicate Kit is clumsy and clueless — a fairly pathetic simulacrum.
  5. Jean-Michel Jarre -- Sounds
In spite of his international status, Jean-Michel Jarre continued to live quietly in France, spending busy afternoons locked away in his studio experimenting with new synthesizer sounds. Jarre displayed an insatiable curiosity for discovering new musical genres, fusing the most ancient traditional music with his futuristic electronic sounds. In 1988 Jarre would return to the studio to record a new album, entitled "Révolution". With its innovative mix of synthesizers, traditional ethnic instruments and Muslim chants, "Révolution" was highly reminiscent of JarreĆ¢€™s 1984 album "Zoolook".
  6. Star Fox Command -- Missions
Star Fox: Assault was developed by Namco for the GameCube, the second title for the platform. The game emphasis returned to its roots with its trademark ship-based shooting. However, new features were added, such as the addition of on-foot missions. Assault was released to mixed reviews, with the main complaints being control problems, the short length of the main game, and the amount of on-foot missions.
  7. Mission: Impossible -- Tom Cruise
Paramount Pictures presents a Cruise/Wagner production, "Mission: Impossible III." The film is directed by J.J. Abrams, from a screenplay written by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & J.J. Abrams, based on the television series created by Bruce Geller. The film is produced by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner.
  8. Monk -- Episodes
Even with a couple of minor flaws that won't get by most Monk fans, Mr. Monk Goes to the Firehouse is just what Monk should be. Goldberg has a clever, breezy style that matches the tone of the series. Even the hard to please devoted fans of the TV series shouldn't be disappointed and with only sixteen episodes a year supplemental Monk is a blessing.
  9. Soul Edge -- Soul Calibur
Once again the presence of Soul Edge drew a host of interesting and colorful warriors, some with deeper stories than most gameplay has ever allowed to be shown. There were characters who knew the swords to be evil, and others who believed it to be the savior of everything they held dear. There was ... Siegfried, who became possessed by Soul Edge and turned into the Evil Seed. Obviously, Namco still had big plans for the story, and the franchise. The interlocking biographies and story lines were of great interest then, and still are now, as Namco releases Soul Calibur IIto much cheering and clashing of virtual weapons.
  10. Bmw M3 -- Design
The muscular front wheel arches of the BMW M3 Concept Car symbolise the high level of agility and driving stability achieved by this vehicle. Together with the forged 19-inch light alloy rims in the classic Y-spoke design, they emphasise the vehicle’s wide track, while a glance through the spokes of the rims reveals the compound high performance brakes developed exclusively for M vehicles.
