The Office of High Schools supports all Portland Public high schools in their mission to deliver a quality educational experience for all students by implementing and managing programs and services that directly impact their success. Key department personnel are listed below:
Seneca Valley Intermediate High School, Harmony, PA: Students in 10th grade honors chemistry and algebra will participate in the project, "Radioactive Decay: An Interdisciplinary Approach." Lessons will include collecting experimental data on radioactive decay, determining the half-life of an isotope both algebraically and graphically, and comparing the results of the two methods.

More than 70 entries were submitted from high schools throughout the Miami-Dade region. Industry designers and executives that participated in judging the entries were impressed by the presentation skills and professionalism shown by many of the entries. In addition to an elegant crystal trophy, a total of $8,500 in scholarship money will be shared among the top eight designers.

By the end of the first half, in front of an overflow crowd that spilled onto the sidelines, the Union Hill High School team had all but buried Emerson High, 20-8. The score stayed that way, and Union Hill, which had started the game one win behind its rival, balanced the historical record: 40 wins, 40 losses and 9 ties.
A subcommittee of Ohio High School Athletic Association and member school administrators will meet tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 1) to discuss the OHSAA’s regulation on assigning schools to tournament divisions, Commissioner Dan Ross has announced. He said the committee was developed to continue dialogue on the much talked about issue.
