1. Disney on Ice -- High School Musical
   Additionally, "Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour," being produced by Feld Entertainment in cooperation with Disney Theatrical Productions, will hit the ice starting on September 29th. That tour is being produced by Tony Award-winner Kenneth Feld, his daughter Nicole Feld, and Kenny Ortega (director of the two Disney Channel Original Movies). The show will include music from the original "High School Musical," as well as from "High School Musical 2," which is scheduled to premiere on Disney Channel in August.

   Ashley Tisdale is giving fans a chance to get a glimpse into her life with a new DVD jam packed with bonus features. The November 6th release will feature an hour of behind the scenes footage following Ashley through the process of releasing her solo album and touring with the High School Musical cast.

   "High School Musical" premiered on Disney Channel on January 20th, 2006, and became the highest rated original movie up until that time. It won the Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Children's Programming, and received two Emmy Awards (of its total 6 nominations), a DGA Award, an Imagen Award for Best Children's Program, and a Humanitas Prize nomination. The soundtrack received a Billboard Music Award for Soundtrack of the Year, and was nominated for an American Music Award in the Favorite Album (Pop/Rock) category. The film even earned an entry in the Guinness World Record Book as the first TV movie to deliver nine concurrent singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

   High School Musical heartthrob Zac Efron is in the hospital with appendicitis, TMZ reports. 8. High Schools -- Colleges
   The city's nine specialized high schools are highly selective. Any student living in the five boroughs may apply. The eight so-called exam schools (Stuyvesant High School (in Manhattan), Bronx High School of Science, Brooklyn Technical High School, Staten Island Tech, and Brooklyn Latin, plus three small specialized high schools located on CUNY campuses: High School of American Studies at Lehman College (in the Bronx), the High School of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering at City College (in Manhattan), and the Queens High School for the Sciences at York College) have one admissions test, given in October or November. Students who move to the city after the test is given may take it the following year, usually the day after Labor Day. The Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan requires an audition (in dance, voice, instrumental music, drama, technical theater or a portfolio in studio art) in November and December. Students who move to the city after the auditions are held, may audition in the following year, usually just before Labor Day.
