High school football has produced a number of athletes that draw national media attention while still in high school. Some, but not all, have continued on to success in college and/or the NFL.

Redman, a former Knightdale resident, graduated from East Wake High School in 2001, according to Wake County School Board officials. She enrolled in NCSU in 2002, but friends said she left school to work full time.

For most people that follow Oregon high school boy's basketball, it is really no surprise that Brad Tinsley, 6-4, 190, Oregon City (Ore.) Oregon City HS, is the top player in the state this year. The senior shooting guard is leading the state in scoring at 24 points per game and if you see him in action, there's no question that he's a prime-time player.

Friday night lights will be a little brighter, or a little dimmer, this high school football season in Kentucky. It depends on how you view the changes that the Kentucky High School Athletic Association brought to the sport by expanding it from four classes to six, giving more teams entry to the playoffs and creating spots for two more state champions.

In the class of 2008 Minnesota was able to sign four players from Dallas Skyline High School. They are hoping they can keep the pipeline to Skyline open in 2009 with cornerback Steve Williams.
