Elite 24 Hoops Classic -- The first-ever annual Elite 24 Hoops Classic, featuring 24 of the best high school basketball players in the country, will take place Friday, September 1 at Harlem's Rucker Park in New York City. The 2006 Elite 24 Hoops Classic will feature the best high school players regardless of class. There are several high school all-star games that feature seniors but no one else. The July sneaker-sponsored high school camps feature the best players, but they all happen at the same time so the players are divided up between the three camps. The goal of the Elite 24 is to bring them all together for one game, and not in a gym but outside in the most famous basketball court in the country. Kevin Love, Bill Walker, Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, Michael Beasley, Derrick Rose, Lance Stephenson and 16 other players will take court.

Coach Cochran began his high school career as a junior reserve, but worked his way to become one of the top high school athletes in the area and nominated for the Cleveland “All Plain Dealer Dream Team” during his senior campaign. After attending junior college in San Diego, California, he was recruited by some of the top colleges in the country, UCLA, USC, Marquette just to name a few and was nominated for All American honorable mention during his freshman year. Due to an unexpected injury, during his sophomore season Coach Cochran soon realized the value of his education.

COLUMBUS, Ga., July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac today announced the full player roster for the fifth annual Aflac All-American High School Baseball Classic, featuring the best high school baseball players in the country. The 2007 Aflac All-American Baseball Classic will be played at San Diego State's Tony Gwynn Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 11, airing live on FSN at 3 p.m. ET. Proceeds from the 2007 event will benefit San Diego's Rady Children's Hospital. Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, a 15-time All Star and 13-time Gold Glove award winner, is this year's honorary chairman.
