High Heels: Women
built 638 days ago
High Heels naturally give your legs a lengthy outlook, and make you to look very slim. As a part of advantages come up in wearing high heels, serious health hazards line up the row in wearing high heels. So, here comes a situation where you have to convert these drawbacks into a convenient and comfortable way. High heels have come in different categories like narrow silhouettes, pointy toes, round toes and spindly heels. They have come up in wide range of sizes, from one inch to six inches. So, women whose job requires standing for a long part of the day are easily prone to joint pains, aches and serious foot problems.

High heels can ... result in a variety of foot problems, including metatarsalgia, which is pain in the ball of the foot. Another condition, called Morton's neuroma, which is 10 times more common in women than men, is caused by a thickening of tissue around a nerve between the third and fourth toes. It usually develops in response to irritation and excessive pressure such as the weight burden high heels place on the ball of the foot. It is often treated with orthotics, cortisone injections and in stubborn cases, surgery.

Claude Chabrol delves in to the slapstick in HIGH HEELS, a black comedy starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Mia Farrow. Fast-talking and ultra-confident Doctor Paul claims that he loves the moral beauty of ugly women and challenges his colleagues to join him in the pursuit of homely women. When he meets plain, buck-toothed, leg-braced Christine (Mia Farrow) on vacation in Tunisia, his falls head over heels. However, his staunch beliefs in moral beauty crumble upon meeting Christine's beautiful sister, who is trapped in an unhappy marriage to a numbskull. The swaggering doctor concocts a scheme in which he drugs Christine every night as he kills each of her sisters' various suitors and husbands and in the meantime woos her himself. Paced like a modern, sex-drenched version of the keystone cops, Chabrol's HIGH HEELS pits Belmondo's arrogance against Farrow's sly and self-effacing comedic charm and in the process creates a darkly comedic and slightly hysterical farce, unlike any other film in the director's oeuvre.

Today, high-heels are typically worn by women, with heights varying from a Cuban heel of 1½" height to a stiletto heel (or spike heel) of 4" or more. Extremely high-heeled shoes, such as those higher than 5", are normally worn only for aesthetic reasons and are not considered practical. Court shoes are conservative styles and often used for work and formal occasions, while more adventurous styles are common for evening wear and dancing. High-heels have seen significant controversy in the medical field lately, with many podiatrists seeing patients whose severe foot problems have been caused almost exclusively by high-heel wear.

Don’t be overwhelmed when shopping for women’s high heel shoes, you don’t have to be psychic to know which heels will be wearable. You must avoid the killer heels that rub in every direction and kill after 10 minutes. When some women buy these killer heels, they get turned off to all heels. This... is avoidable. Always walk around the shoe store with both heels on before making your decision. The heels that surprise you with their comfort are the heels that will last you in the office or on the dance floor.

Men in high heels are becoming more common because shoes are becoming important now, even for men. Your average, every day Joe now cares what his shoes look like so much that he will go to a special store and drop more money than he did on his Nike Jordan's in the 1980s. Shoes are in for men, because most men are learning that shoes are part of the overall look, something women have known for years. Style is becoming more and more important, and shoes are a big part of style now, even for men so the high heel rules for both men and women right now.
