Hexaware Technologies is a technology outsourcing company with 6,000 employees and annual revenues of about $187 million. It had poor visibility of its more than 3,000 IT assets across the organisation – physical inventory taking was error prone, repetitive and time consuming, with key information not being easily accessed or maintained, such as surveillance audit information. Asset location and data was entered manually into a spreadsheet on a monthly basis, so Hexaware was unable to create automatic audit trails or monitor its assets in real time as it moved from project to project. Due to its limited asset visibility, the company ... faced the risk of customs penalties for inaccurately accounting for assets that were exported. The company looked to RFID and barcode technologies for asset utilisation analysis with the goal of increasing the visibility of its assets, increasing labour cost savings and preventing customs penalty risks.
Hexaware Technologies is a global IT & BPO services provider. As of now its Indian operations don’t contribute much to its revenues, say one to two percent. That said, the company intends to invest large amounts of money towards building infrastructure.
Hexaware Technologies is aware of any possible hex in software before it can cause trouble. The company helps its customers develop, implement, and manage their software applications, both packaged (such as PeopleSoft and SAP) and home-grown. Hexaware's six-pronged focus targets banking and financial services companies, as well as those in the transportation, health care, hospitality, and insurance industries. Clients include Northwest Airlines (since 2001), Air Canada (since 1997), and Princeton University (since 1996). Hexaware Technologies was founded in 1990. In late 2006 the company acquired FocusFrame, a provider of software testing tools.
