In being challenged to bring back Cerberus to the land of the living, Heracles was faced with one of his most difficult Labors. Descending to Hades via Laconian Taenarum, the first problem he encountered was a glowering Charon the Boatman. Charon wasn't about to ferry anyone across in his rickety craft unless they met two conditions. Firstly, they had to pay a fare or bribe. And secondly, they had to be dead. Heracles met neither condition, a circumstance which aggravated Charon's natural grouchiness and caused him to glower more fiercely than usual.

On October 7, 2525, The Heracles, along with the UNSC Arabia and UNSC Vostok were sent into the Harvest system to discover why the Colonial Administration Authority had lost contact with both the colony and the scout ship Argo. It discovered the planet destroyed, the Argo missing, and a Covenant vessel in orbit. After a short battle, the Arabia and the Vostok were destroyed and the Heracles was forced to retreat. It took the Heracles several weeks to return to Reach.

On the way there, Heracles visited Pholus, a kind centaur and old friend. Heracles ate with him and asked for wine; Pholus had only one jar of wine, a gift from Dionysus to all the centaurs on Mt Erymanthus. Heracles convinced him to open it, and the smell attracted the other centaurs, who attacked, angry that their wine had been opened. Heracles shot at them with his poisonous arrows, and the centaurs retreated to Chiron's cave. Chiron was another wise centaur, and Heracles' old mentor. A stray arrow hit Chiron and killed him.

Heracles’ power and brawn was first discovered one night while, as an infant, he was sleeping alongside his twin brother Iphicles. When two rather large snakes attacked Heracles (perhaps sent by Hera?), rather than crying, the infant strangled the serpents with his bare hands.

Later, Heracles captured the boar and delivered it alive to Eurystheus. Eurystheus was such a coward that he hid inside a bronze jar. Heracles released it at Eurystheus' request. Eurystheus ordered Heracles that he would show him his successes of his labours on the other side of the city wall.

HERACLES is a Monte Carlo event generator simulating neutral and charged current ep interactions at HERA energies and beyond. The actual version 4.6 of the generator optionally treats the ep scattering either by means of structure function parametrizations or on the basis of parton distribution functions in the framework of the quark-parton model. Single photon emission from the lepton or the quark line as well as self energy corrections and the complete set of one-loop weak corrections can be included. The new version includes the background from radiative elastic scattering.
