Laomedon had refused to pay him, when Heracles rescued Hesione from the sea monster. Heracles had vowed vengeance. Poseidon and Apollo having to build the wall around much of Troy, making it quite impregnable. The only weakness to the wall were section built by Aeacus, Telamon' father. It was most likely that Telamon knew where the weakness is.

The arbitrators having taken their seats, Phyleus was called by Heracles and testified against his father, affirming that he had agreed to give him a reward. In a rage Augeas, before the voting took place, ordered both Phyleus and Heracles to pack out of Elis. So Phyleus went to Dulichium and dwelt there, and Heracles repaired to Dexamenus at Olenus.

Zeus boasted that Heracles would "be of the race that is of my blood." This could be his boast that his line, the religious worship of the invaders, would usurp the indigenous one. Was this a remnant of the change-over from mother-right and matrifocal lineage to paternity and the father's bloodlines and inheritance through the father?
