Founded in 1965, The Henry Samueli School of Engineering is one of the nation’s fastest growing engineering schools, attracting talented faculty and students from across the country and around the world. Co-founder of Irvine-based Broadcom Corp. Henry Samueli and his wife, Susan, have donated $30 million to UCLA's School of Engineering and Applied Science. They ... donated $20 million to UC Irvine's School of Engineering. In recognition of the gifts, both schools will be renamed for the donor: The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA and The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UCI.

* The HENRY SAMUELI SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING launches the HENRY AND SUSAN SAMUELI – LEONARDO DA VINCI LECTURE SERIES: October 3, 6 p.m., McDonnell Douglas Engineering Auditorium. The first speaker will be BARBARA M. STAFFORD, Professor of Art History, University of Chicago, and curator of “Devices of Wonder,” the recent exhibit at the Getty Museum. The topic will be “Artificial Intensity: Images, Instruments and the Technology of Amplification,” an exploration of the historical intersection of art and technology. Admission is free. Henry is on the Board of Trustees of the UCI Foundation and he is chair of the UCI Chief Executive Roundtable. He is ... on the Industrial Advisory Boards of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA and the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UCI. In 2000 he received the UCLA School of Engineering and Applied Science Alumnus of the Year Award as well as the UC Irvine Medal. In 2000 he was also awarded the University of California Presidential Medal. Henry received a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 1975, 1976 and 1980, respectively.
