The Henry Hudson Parkway is an mile ( km) long parkway in New York City. The southern terminus is at West 72nd Street in Manhattan, where the parkway continues south as the West Side Highway. The northern terminus is at the Bronx-Westchester County boundary, where it continues north as the Saw Mill River Parkway. All of the parkway is designated New York State Reference Route 907V, an unsigned reference route; ... all but the northernmost mile of the road is also designated as part of the signed New York State Route 9A. It is named after Henry Hudson.

NEW BREAKDOWN AREAS ADDED: As it was originally built, the Henry Hudson Parkway did not have emergency shoulders. During the late 1940's, engineers added emergency turn-off areas every one-half mile along the parkway. The emergency parking areas allowed motorists to pull over their disabled vehicles between exits without impeding normal traffic flow.

Since a 65-foot stone wall turned into a $20 million pile of kitty litter on the Henry Hudson Parkway two years ago, the city has been poking around to find the cause. Incredibly, their “scathing” report claims that property owners should have “done more than try to tie the structure to a tree.” Next time they’ll be sure to have rubber cement and popsicle sticks on hand. Transportation money is about to rain down on the Henry Hudson Parkway. Millions of dollars in earmarks for the parkway were tucked into the State Transportation Bond Act and the Federal Transportation Bill. But where will it go? Descriptions in appropriation bills and budgets are vague. There is no plan for how this parkway should look or function. And the plan to make a plan is quashed.
