The music in Hellsing is a mix between jazz, noir/gothic music, a little rock, and abstract. It's a great package, and fits well with the overall theme of the anime. All the songs are great, but not really the type of stuff that most could listen to alone. Still, it's all good stuff.

Hellsing is one of the very best in the horror genre, and another absolute gem from Gonzo. One of the reasons for the zeal of the fanbase is that the violence is absolutely off the chart, characters are sliced and diced throughout, and the screen runs red with blood. The English dubbing, featuring British-accented voice actors is far superior to the average anime dub (as this is supposed to take place in the U.K.).

Though this anime smacks of unfulfilled potential, Hellsing is still a must-see for fans of action and dark comedy. With its highly memorable soundtrack and undeniably cool characters, this anime simply oozes swank originality.

Hellsing is definitely worth checking out, especially if you like horror, suspense, or thriller anime. The series is ... much less bloody than it could have been, as most of the zombies turn to dust when killed, rather than leaving gory undead-bits all over. The series should still be considered mature, however, as it is quite violent.

The Hellsing anime is composed of 13 episodes and was produced in 2001, the story and characters differing from the original manga. Hellsing Ultimate - a retelling of the Hellsing series, which follows the manga much more closely. If you enjoyed the Hellsing series, chances are you'll like Hellsing Ultimate a lot better. Much more graphic than it's predecessor with superb animation and art.
