- Despite suffering from electrical problems today, Helio Castroneves remains in fourth-place in the points race as the highest Toyota. Castroneves’ Marlboro Team Penske teammate Sam Hornish Jr. retains his fifth-place position and closed the gap on Castroneves to 25 points for the fourth spot. Scott Dixon fell from sixth to seventh after his injury, while Darren Manning dropped from seventh to ninth.

(June 24, 2004) - Indy Racing League (IRL) stars Helio Castroneves and Sam Hornish Jr. participated on July 23 in a tour of the Lebanon Distribution Center of Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT). The visit took place during a day of media activities in the Nashville area related to the upcoming Firestone Indy 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.

The four winners on this year's list are defending champion Sam Hornish Jr., Dan Wheldon (2005), Buddy Rice (2004) and Helio Castroneves (2001-02). Hornish edged rookie Marco Andretti by .0635 of a second for victory last year with a pass on the final straightaway of the last lap.
