Helena Bonham Carter (born May 26, 1966) is an English actress, known for playing Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film. She replaced Helen McCrory who was originally going to play the role but could not because of her pregnancy. Bonham Carter will be returning to the set of Harry Potter for the sixth film in spring 2008 due to her own pregnancy, which ended on December 15, 2007 with the birth of her daughter and second child with her partner Tim Burton.

Helena Bonham Carter entered into the world of acting in 1979, after winning a national writing contest. She utilized her prize money for gaining entry into “Spotlight”, the directory of actors. She professionally debuted at the age of 16 in a television commercial. She ... played a nondescript role in an ambiguous TV film “A Pattern of Roses” in the year 1983.
