Heinrich Himmler was born in Munich in 1900. He was an early follower of Adolf Hitler[Citation Needed], and in 1936 he was named chief of police for all of Germany. When the SS was established in 1925 Himmler was given command of that .... In 1943 he was made Minister of the Interior and Minister of Home Defense in 1944. He committed suicide in 1945 after being arrested by British troops following the German surrender.

Heinrich Luitpold Himmler was born in Munich to a Bavarian middle-class family. His father was Joseph Gebhard Himmler, a secondary-school teacher and principal[1] of the prestigious Wittelsbacher Gymnasium in Munich. His mother was Anna Maria Himmler (née Heyder), a devout Roman Catholic and attentive mother. Heinrich had an older brother, Gebhard Ludwig Himmler, who was born on 29 July 1898; and a younger brother, Ernst Hermann Himmler, born on 23 December 1905.[2] Himmler’s childhood was quite normal for the time. His father and mother were extraordinarily strict but were actively involved in the rearing of their three children.

Heinrich Himmler was born in München (Munich) on 7 October 1900, as second son of the pious authoritarian Roman Catholic schoolmaster Gebhard Himmler. Educated at secondary school in Landshut, Himmler served as an officer cadet in the 11th Bavarian Regiment at the end of WW1, although he saw no active service.
