This morning, CharterX Industry Headline News obtained a letter in which Robert Wells, CEO of Swiss-based TAG Aviation Holding, announced it has agreed to sell its subsidiary, TAG Aviation USA, to Sentient Flight Group, LLC. The announcement comes after the Federal Aviation Administration revoked AMI Jet Charter's air carrier certificate on Oct. 12, under an emergency order. Wells wrote: "This transaction will provide TAG USA with the best possible solution to an ‘operational control' matter related to its affiliated AOC holder, AMI Jet Charter. The operational control issues were largely the result of the structures ofTAG Aviation USA and AMI Jet Charter, mandated by foreign ownership and investment (in the case of AMI) in the companies."

All Headline News now offers RSS newsfeeds for its topics. Apart from the broad topics: Top, Business, Entertainment, Health, Offbeat, Politics, Sports, Technology, World, there are 100s of specific topics - acupuncture, legumes, Toronto. It draws from 7,500 sources. There are for-fee subscription plans for putting news feeds on a web site. This service seems to have improved over the past year. Could be another good replacement for Moreover especially when using a newsreader.

Since its inception, Headline News has been syndicated to network television affiliates in the United States. Audio of the channel has ... been simulcast on AM radio stations across the country via Westwood One. As of 2007, however, these affiliations are being phased out due to the format changes on the channel.

August 6, 2001 would be the date of another revamp of CNN Headline News. This one... would be a true revamp because besides new graphics, new anchors and new music, they would go from taping the shows and simply reairing them for six hours to airing many hours of live news a day. While viewership is up, critics are not impressed by this at all mainly due to poor anchors. Since then, however, competent anchors such as Thomas Roberts, Sophia Choi, Stephen Frazier, and Rudi Bakhtiar have gotten important spots in the lineup! Headline News chose to go elsewhere for their news music needs and ended up at Stephen Arnold Music, a company which has done many news theme packages for local stations. The music is really good!

In 2005, Headline News overtook MSNBC in ratings and has become, for all intents and purposes, the third channel out of four rather than an afterthought. In February 2005, it replaced its typical headlines-only “wheel†format with prime time programs such as “Showbiz Tonight,†an entertainment show; Nancy Grace’s justice-themed interview/debate show, and “Prime News Tonight,†an hour-long program that looks at the day’s headlines at 9 p.m. on weeknights. By the end of that month, Headline News had passed MSNBC in ratings for both prime time and daytime viewership. It kept up the pace throughout the year, with its strongest rated shows being Nancy Grace and “Prime News Tonight.â€8

Headline News captures some of the finest moments from gospel singer Inez Andrews. From her beginnings as a child prodigy in her church choir to her work with the Caravans and Andrewettes, her angelic alto melded beautifully in a group setting and handled lead vocals dynamically. Her solo work in the '70s capitalized on this side of her talent, and it's this part of her career that Headline News documents. Tracks like "Lord Don't Move the Mountain," "The Healer" and "There's a God Somewhere" feature Andrews at the peak of her powers. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
