Owned by barbershop singers, Harmony Hall is ... the home of the East York Barbershop Chorus. But you don't have to be a barbershopper or even like it to rent the hall's one room. Licensed to hold 200, the maximum number recommended for the room is 140. Hall management is amenable to the customer setting the tone of the event; that means you can bring in your own caterer, or use one recommended by the hall. A special occasion licence is needed to serve liquor. There are no penalties for serving your own liquor, but you do have to use the hall's bartender.--Gigi Suhanic

Built in 1892, Harmony Hall long served the residents of this area. The Hall was, for years, the local meeting place. Harmony Community Center, formed in 1988 has continued to fulfill that function. The Center, a not-for-profit corporation administers this historic building and opens the Hall to youth, seniors, families and organizations - to all residents of this community.

Networking in Harmony Hall was financed using different funding sources. In this building, generally all apartments have one or more Ethernet connections as a standard feature, analagous to the way Residence Halls are wired.
