Han Dynasty
built 655 days ago
During the Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) in ancient China, many tombs were built for wealthy farmers, merchants, and officials. Excavations of these tombs have uncovered clay models of various items related to daily life. These include wells, stoves, barns, and storehouses, as well as cooking jars and food storage vessels.

The downfall of the Later Han dynasty would be the same as that of the Former Han: taxation. Wealthy landowners evaded paying their taxes, and the poor had to take on this burden. The even that marked the end of the Later Han in 220 AD was the revolt by the Taoist Secret Society known as the Yellow Turbans (Hooker "Later Han", par. 4). With the fall of the Later Han, the entire Han Dynasty died out and faded into history.

Female laborers of the Han Dynasty always wore short jackets and long skirts, and their knees were always decorated with long hanging waistbands. Male laborers often wore jackets and calf-nose trousers with aprons around the garments. Farmers, workers, businessmen and scholars were all in the same dressing style at that time.
