Halle Berry: People
built 198 days ago
Halle Berry seen on Oct 13 2006 in . ...To find any hot new gossip about her, that is. Get your mind out of the gutter people! But that's just one of the things you've got to respect about Ms. Berry, the fact that she is not always out there participating in the media circus and is able to actually have some part of her private life outside of the limelight. While Halle is still allegedly seeing that hot model boyfriend of hers, Gabriel Aubry, there has been no word about the constant baby buzz that was surrounding Halle a few months ago. Either way, she looks great here, radiant even when pumping gas.

Berry ... tried her hand at sci-fi fantasy, starring in X-Men in 2000 and X2 in 2003, proving herself to be a successful action heroine who could draw people into the box office. X-Men had a colossal opening, drawing $54 million its first weekend, which was the largest-ever opening for a non-sequel film. Berry failed, however, in trying to bring the comic-book heroine Catwoman to life in 2004. This flick garnered horrible reviews, especially for Berry. Critics lambasted her performance, saying she never should have taken the role, which was more suited for a person with a dancing background who could pull off the feline moves. Berry's performance was so bad it earned her a Razzie Award for worst actress.

"I've gone on some chat rooms, anonymously -- I've done the creepy thing of pretending that I'm somebody else," Berry revealed with an almost embarrassed laugh in a recent @ The Movies interview. "I did it mainly out of curiosity just to see if I could have a normal conversation without having to be me and to see if I could communicate with people and talk in a real way."

Those doctors interviewed agreed that if Berry was truly a Type 1 diabetic, it would be suicide to simply stop taking insulin. They surmised that the 41-year-old actress was either mistaken, misinformed or misdiagnosed, and probably always had Type 2, which tends to affect people later in life and can in some cases be overcome with a change in diet.

Berry has stated that the manner in which people have reacted to her is often the result of ignorance. Her own self-identification has been influenced by her mother. She is quoted as saying

"I quickly realized that these people are who they say they are either because they sometimes say such heinously negative things," Berry said. "When you try to figure out what they look like and go, 'Send a picture so I can see what you look like,' nobody wants to do it because nobody wants to disclose who they really are."
