Habbo Hotel: Users

Habbo Hotel launched the Traxmaxhine back in June to bring music to the virtual world. Right now they act as basic jukeboxes for user-created tunes, but Habbo wants to use them as stores for existing artists as well. While record sales are falling and artists are looking for alternative distribution methods, labels are apparently dragging their feet over compensation and digital rights management issues before getting into the virtual world.
Habbo Hotel Is Habbo Hotel making a run at MySpace, at least in the younger teen market, by taking more of a Cyworld-esque approach? Habbo has recently rolled out user home pages for its users, but only on the Finnish Habbo for now. You can see the page describing the system (in Finnish) at http://www.habbo.fi/home
To pay for services or items within Habbo Hotel's miniverse, users need Habbo Coins. These are available for purchase by home phone or through a text message on your mobile phone. Habbo has plans to add a complete mobile miniverse, but currently has only added Habbo Home; a social network done Habbo Style.

Habbo Hotel tries to recreate real-life atmosphere in virtual 5 star hotel. It provides an environment where users can use their imagination to create personal virtual avatar and interact with other inhabitants of this Hotel. Currently hotel counts over 50 millions residents, with thousands of members logged on at any given time. It’s fun.

The virtual world of Habbo Hotel One interesting stat to track about Habbo Hotel is online users. Every now and then I’ll check both Habbo and Second Life “currently online” numbers and while Habbo Hotel usually has a few thousand more (although not always), it’s not an order of magnitude difference. For example, right now at 12:50pm EDT, Habbo has 8,344 accounts logged in and Second Life has 5,132.

Users can create groups and design a badge to display on their Habbo Home next to their avatar while in the Hotel. Each group ... has a homepage which acts similarly to a Habbo Home, but the group owner and group administrators can only edit it. The majority of the website's content and promotions organised by the site's management is now displayed in groups.[11]
