Gwen Stefani Gwen Stefani was the lead singer for the band No Doubt before going solo in 2004. The band, founded by Gwen's older brother Eric Stefani, made its name in 1995 with the hit album Tragic Kingdom, a heady mixture of rock, speedy reggae and playful pop hooks. The album ... made a star of Stefani, who combined a belter's voice with brash blonde good looks and a dependably bare midriff. The band's later albums included Return Of Saturn (2000) and Rock Steady (2001). In 2004 Stefani released her first solo album, Love, Angel, Music, Baby,, nominated for a Grammy award as Album of the Year and including the hit single "Hollaback Girl" (which was nominated for a Grammy as Record of the Year). A second solo album, The Sweet Escape, followed in 2006.

Gwen Stefani—singer/songwriter, film actress and fashion designer—is one of today's most popular and versatile female performers. Stefani first made her mark as the lead singer of the GRAMMY Award®-winning group No Doubt. Full of infectious energy and ska/punk style, No Doubt brought great fame and accolades to Stefani. In November of 2004, she released her debut solo album, Love. Angel. Music.
Gwen Stefani Before she discovered she could write songs, Gwen Stefani was looking forward to a life of marriage, children, and white picket fences. When her brother introduced her to ska and new wave music, it set off a chain of events that would eventually lead to millions of albums sold and a Madonna-sized public image that extended past music and into the worlds of film, fashion, and technology. Born and raised in Fullerton, CA, Stefani had a musical epiphany at the age of 17. She had fallen in love with the Madness and Selecter records her brother, Eric Stefani, was playing constantly. Seeing Fishbone, the Untouchables, and other bands involved in Los Angeles' ska revival scene only reinforced her interest in music, so she was more than ready when her brother asked her to join a ska band he was forming with a friend named John Spence. Gwen originally shared lead vocals with Spence but in December of 1987 he committed suicide, leaving the band -- now called No Doubt -- with an uncertain future.

Gwen Stefani - Love.Angel.Music.Baby Formerly cleaning floors at a Dairy Queen and working at a department store, Gwen Stefani joined brother Eric and his friend John Spence in establishing a band named No Doubt in 1986. Eric was the band's keyboardist but later decided to leave the band in order to try his talent in animation on The Simpsons. After the band's original front man, John Spence, committed suicide in December 1987, Gwen subsequently became the leader of the band. With other members (Tony Kanal on bass, Tom Dumont on guitar and Adrian Young on drums), Gwen survived by performing at local parties and small clubs for several years.
Gwen Stefani seen on Feb 23 2008 in Beverly Hills, CA. Gwen Stefani was spotted Saturday, February 23 in Beverly Hills with son Kingston. Very pregnant, Stefani kept comfortable with a relaxed and loose look. Stefani hid her baby bump in oversized cotton gray tunic (similar to Woo's Mira Pullover Tunic in Heather Grey) underneath a long red plaid jacket, keeping her warm and dry on the rainy weekend in Los Angeles. On the bottom, Stefani continued her casual look with a pair of boot cut denim jeans (just like James Jeans' 5 Pocket Slim Bootcut Jean in Graphite) and a pair of tennis shoes. Stefani accessorized her look with a houndstooth news boy cap (just like Rails' Newsboy Cap in Black) and silver charm necklace (check out Femme Metale Jewelry's True Love Necklace in Silver). Stefani made a stop at her parent's house in Beverly Hills that day to allow Kingston some time to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma Stefani.
Gwen Stefani was born in Orange County, California on October 3, 1969. As she was growing up she was strongly influenced by "ska" and "punk" music.
