Guyana: Essequibo River
built 618 days ago
Many parts of Guyana are separated by large rivers. These areas can be traversed by way of river taxi. Go to the port village and ask from where the speedboats launch. Ask other passengers what the fare is while traveling as boat operators tend to seek higher fees from tourists. Do not take "specials" without first negotiating the price.

Life in Guyana is dominated by mighty rivers, including the Demerara, the Berbice and the Essequibo, which provide essential highways into the rain forests and jungles of the interior. Mankind has made little impact here, and today Guyana remains one of the world's most exciting destinations for adventuresome travel and exploration.

In addition to the new plant, NARIL continues to operate 3 hydraulic suction dredges in the Konawaruk River area of Guyana. Two of these dredges are owned by the joint venture in which NARIL owns a 65% interest. The third dredge is wholly owned by NARIL.

The plant is designed to process up to 125 cubic yards per hour of gold bearing gravels located in a 25 square mile area adjacent to the Konawaruk River in Guyana. The area has previously been the subject of favorable exploratory drilling programs conducted by three non-affiliated international mining companies. NARIL is presently conducting further tests to confirm those results.
