Gujarati (ગુજરાતી Gujǎrātī; ... known as Gujerati, Gujarathi, Guzratee, and Guujaratee[3]) is an Indo-Aryan language descending from Sanskrit, and part of the greater Indo-European language family. It is native to the Indian state of Gujarat, and is its chief language, as well as of the adjacent union territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

Similar to other Nāgarī writing systems, the Gujarati script is an abugida. It is used to write the Gujarati and Kutchi languages. It is a variant of Devanāgarī script differentiated by the loss of the characteristic horizontal line running above the letters and by a small number of modifications in the remaining characters.

In many countries where there are Gujarati communities, there are no missionary agencies targeting this people group. Sadly, even in Christian countries (such as Kenya) where there are three missionary agencies working among them, the Gujarati remain zero percent Christian. The Bible is available in their language, but the Gujarati must see Christianity lived out. O­nly then will they understand that true freedom and peace is found in Jesus Christ alone.
