Guild Wars 2 Logo The Guild Wars 2 story is set about 250 years after the events in the Eye of the North expansion. The world of Tyria is drastically changed from its original form. These changes are caused by ancient dragons resurfacing after millenia of slumber. The first of the dragons, called Primordus, awoke during Eye of the North and proceeded to take over the underground network of Asuran tunnels under Tyria, driving the Asuras to the surface. Other dragons ... resurfaced during the intervening centuries; one rose about the sunken holy city of Arah in the ruined kingdom of Orr, and severed the sea route between Kryta and Cantha; another arose to the south of the Crystal Desert, cutting off the link to Elona; a third arose in the Far Shiverpeaks and pushed the Norn south into land previously controlled by the Dwarves.

There are shed loads of enemies and plenty of quality fights and scraps to be had. There are a seemingly endless number of quests and the learning curve is well set for beginners and rises at a steady and manageable rate. At first you might find yourself dead pretty soon but it's easy enough as you just re-spawn in the nearest town so there's never too far a distance to traverse to give that pesky quest another shot. You'll probably find yourself dying more and more in the player-versus-player areas. In Guild Wars, PVP only takes place at certain set locations and it's all very organised instead of being an almighty, messy scrap.

Although Guild Wars bears many similarities to its MMORPG competitors, there are some key differences. Chief among these is the game’s instancing system. Towns and outposts are full of other players, but the moment you leave a public area, you and your group move into a private instance that’s just for you. You’ll never have to compete with other players for the chance to do a quest or mission. The downside to this exclusionary feature is that Guild Wars sometimes feels a bit lonely.

The Guild Lord is a well-guarded NPC that must be defeated to win a Guild Battle Games in the original Guild Wars sequence were released in episodes known as campaigns. Players must purchase an individual campaign in order to access the game elements specific to that campaign; ... all campaigns are linked in one game world. Each campaign is independent of the others, with its own co-operative storyline, campaign-specific skills, and competitive arenas. Players owning different campaigns may still interact in shared areas, including trading for items specific to the campaigns they have not purchased. Players who own two or more campaigns may transport their characters freely from one campaign to the other.
Speaking of Guild Wars, the game has been updated again. The new update offers improved faction rewards in Arenas and the Tournament, and the much needed tweaks to the henchmen AI that makes them get stuck less as they're following you around more closely.
