Grenada is an incredible country - it is so rich in stunning natural beauty and history. This small country part of the Eastern Caribbean is picture perfect with its beautiful harbour, narrow winding roads, glorious beaches and incredible views. The destination is very popular with holidaymakers from around the world and property in Grenada is most certainly in demand. Having said that, because the Grenadian real estate market is relatively new on the world investment property stage, property & land prices in Grenada remain attractive.

Most of Grenada's population is of African descent. A few East Indians and a small community of the descendants of early European settlers reside in Grenada. About 50% of Grenada's population is under the age of 30. English is the official language; only a few people still speak French patois. A more significant reminder of Grenada's historical link with France is the strength of the Roman Catholic Church, to which about 60% of Grenadians belong.

August 1, 1838 marked the emancipation of slaves all over the Caribbean, Grenada included. With this new freedom, questions were raised as to what type of government Grenada would adopt. In 1877 Crown Colony government was introduced. However, efforts to change this system were spearheaded by T. A. Marryshow and C. F. P. Renwick. In 1924, the old legislative council came to an end and the Grenadian constitution was revised. More demands were made for self-governance side by side with attempts to establish a West Indies Federation.

Grenada and the United States cooperate closely in fighting narcotics smuggling and other forms of transnational crime. In 1995, the United States and Grenada signed a maritime law enforcement treaty. In 1996, they signed a mutual legal assistance treaty and an extradition treaty as well as an over-flight/order-to-land amendment to the maritime law enforcement treaty. The United States continues to provide training, equipment, and materiel, including three vehicles in 2006, to Grenadian security and defense forces. Some U.S. military training is provided as well.
