Greg Rusedski is a fresh addition to the BlackRock Masters Tennis this year, taking the place of Goran Ivanisevic who has had to pull out due to injury. Making his first appearance, Rusedski completes the field as the youngest player.

After cruising past one lefty in Irakli Labadze, Andy finds himself up against another one in the form of big serving Greg Rusedski, Britain’s number two player. Rusedski fought through a tough, four set match against Jonas Bjorkman in the first round, and was upbeat about playing Andy. He said he was “very much looking forward to it”, and he had no doubt that Andy has greatly improved since losing to him at Wimbledon in 2002.

Greg Rusedski was yesterday cleared of taking banned drugs despite testing positive for the steroid nandrolone last July. But the credibility of men's tennis suffered a further blow with the news that 16 players have tested positive for the same drug already this year.
