Greg Biffle has the pole for the race this weekend in Vegas, Jeff Gordon starts 13th, Tony Stewart 2nd, Jimmie Johnson 3rd. Apparently, it’s really cold out there right now, after qualifying, everyone was all bundled up in clothing. Earnhardt Jr qualified 42nd using owner’s points, of the 6 cars that did not qualify, four of them were faster than Junior.

Greg Biffle, who captured six Cup events last season, including an unbelievable five checkered flags in his first 15 starts, has filed an entry for the unique contest, joining veteran Kenny Wallace in the field. Two more NASCAR stars will be announced at a later date.. The four drivers will compete in an exhibition race using Jennerstown super late model cars and will ... participate in a pre-race autograph session.

Greg Biffle came on at the end of the race to win his first race of the year... his first win since November of last year. Lots of things happened to Chase contenders tonight, from being wrecked by non Chase drivers, to being wrecked by Chase drivers, to broken parts, about everything you could think, and that’s not counting the two long rain delays that caused this race to be shortened by 57 laps. Gordon, Johnson and Harvick were the only ones who finished the race with minimal problems or none at all.

Biffle's girlfriend faces a reprimand: #16-Greg Biffle's girlfriend faces a reprimand from NASCAR about her pit-road confrontation with #2-Kurt Busch's fiance after the two drivers wrecked at Texas Motor Speedway. Busch hit the back of Biffle's car early in Sunday's race, causing an accident that ended Biffle's day. Biffle, the defending race winner, had led 49 of the first 82 laps before the crash and wound up 42nd. Moments after the wreck, TV cameras caught girlfriend Nicole Lunders slamming a water bottle on Biffle's pit box. She then marched down pit road and climbed halfway up Busch's box and had a heated exchange with Eva Bryan. The brief confrontation created a buzz in NASCAR, and the sanctioning body wants to cool down the emotions.

The Pat Tryson experiment didn’t work and by June Greg Erwin was Biffle’s new crew chief. The results didn’t change much, but Erwin and Biffle did manage 3 top 5’s in the final ten races. That included Biffle’s sole win of 2007 late in the year at Kansas, despite a controversial finish. In a darkness shortened race, Biffle took the checkered flag under caution, and immediately pulled to the infield and stopped. Other drivers complained that Biffle didn’t maintain caution speed and therefore didn’t win the race. NASCAR said he did and so Biffle wound up in victory lane.
