The architects are lining up for a crack at fixing up War Memorial Stadium, now that the Greensboro Bats/Grasshoppers are moving into their new digs. Back in October, the city asked local firms whether they would like to design the renovation. Three design teams are competing for the contract:
The Greensboro Grasshoppers (formerly the Greensboro Bats) are a minor league baseball team in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Grasshoppers play in the South Atlantic League as a Class A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. The Grasshoppers play home games at First Horizon Park which seats 8000 fans.
The Rome Braves and Greensboro Bats hook up for final game of the season Monday night at 7pm. There are fireworks scheduled immediately following the game. Tickets are available by calling (706) 378-5144.

Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro Established in August 2002 by the Greensboro Bats to honor the memory of Charlie Harville. This scholarship is available to senior baseball players attending Guilford County High Schools and are recommended by their coaches.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers (formerly the Greensboro Bats and the Greensboro Hornets) are a minor league baseball team in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. They are a Class A team in the South Atlantic League, and have been a farm team of the Florida Marlins since 2003.
Jason Smith (Kamiakin), 6-5, 200, RHP - On April 1, Smith was promoted from Staten Island Yankees to Greensboro Bats (Single-A) of the South Atlantic League, where he is 4-3 with a 3.05 ERA in 7923 innings. He has started all 14 games he has appeared in. Has given up 75 hits, 33 runs, 27 earned runs, 4 home runs and has 18 walks, 42strikeouts. Went on DL on June 1 with shoulder problems and returned to action June 29. In his last start on July 5, he pitched 5 innings, gave up 1 run and struck out 5 against Delmarva. He will start today against the Kannapolis Intimidators.
