Though Sony has been very forthcoming with news, images and promotions regarding the film, there has been one area the company is surprisingly mum about - the Green Goblin. The only glimpses of GG have been blurry photos, and briefly one production shot leaked to the internet. Then, a week ago Sony revealed Green Goblin conceptual art, and the mother lode: a full motion sequence of the Goblin in action!

Fantastic Four #405- Zarrko, the Tomorrow Man uses his time machine to bring forth the original Green Goblin. Goblin throws a pumpkin bomb at Ant-Man saying that he had another insect in mind for these bombs. Later Ant-Man snags the time displacer off Zarrko’s belt, and the anomalies brought forward or back in time disappear.

In the miniseries Avataars: Covenant of the Shield, which takes place in an alternate universe referred to as Eurth created by the Shaper of Worlds, the Green Goblin appears as the Goblin King. A small, nimble creature green in color and adorned in purple rags, the Goblin King is shown to speak solely in rhyme and runs a toll booth in the Webwood, extorting goods from travellers along with his henchmen the Six Most Sinister. Superhuman Durability: The Green Goblin's skin, muscle, and bone tissues are somewhat harder and more durable than those of an ordinary human. He has proven capable of resisting small caliber bullets. Apparently, a .45 Magnum at close range can injure him, as Mary Jane Watson realized when she shot him when he tried to kidnap her.

No doubt, there's plenty more of the Green Goblin to be revealed before the movie comes out. The official trailer may not come out for months. Yet, there seems to be a growing feeling of inevitability regarding the film. Many feel this could finally be the perfect super hero adaptation - the action of the Matrix with the heart of Superman. And that means that despite the cosmetic changes, the Green Goblin is going to make his mark in the realm of action movie villains.
