While Benn has refused to name the three acts, Rage Against The Machine, Green Day and Foo Fighters are the most likely combination. Green Day have a new album planned for 2008 and are a firm favourite with the Reading and Leeds crowds. They last played the weekender in 2004 and Benn later [said] it was one of the best comeback sets he has ever seen.

Green Day went out on a tour, after Australia, across the United States while Billie's wife, Adrienne, was pregnant with their 2nd son, Jakob. . At the KROQ show in CA, Mike was hospitalized after getting into an 'accidental' fight with Arion Salazar of Third Eyed Blind onstage.

Green Day headed out across the United States headlining with Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, Saves the Day and Kut U Up. Their tour experiences, from performances to a dangling chandelier and burning pool cues, can be seen in the DVD-movie "Riding in Vans with Boys".

On August 1, 2005, it was announced that Green Day had rescinded the master rights to their pre-Dookie material from Lookout! Records, citing breach of contract regarding unpaid royalties that had been ongoing for some time, a complaint shared with other Lookout! bands.[33] The pre-Dookie material, which remained out of print for about a year, was reissued by their current label, Reprise, on January 9, 2007.[34]

The final installment of the summer series of a day on the green 2008 will feature Joe Cocker and Jimmy Barnes. The son of a Sheffield steelworker and the working class man will perform three shows on the East Coast of Australia in wineries in February '08.
