The Greek Gods yogurt line has a quiet flavor profile. There is a light hand with both the sweeteners (sugar and honey) and other flavorings. Each yogurt has its own Greek god. Regrettably, the packaging only supplies the god’s name and likeness and does not tell the uninitiated what he or she is the god of, and why of all the gods in the Pantheon, he or she was chosen to represent this particular flavor. For example, why did the maiden goddess Artemis (the Roman Diana, goddess of the hunt) get the full-fat Plain Yogurt, but the burly sea god Poseidon get Plain Nonfat (well, maybe that’s the joke)?

Following the Renaissance in Europe, the humanist aesthetic and the high technical standards of Greek art inspired generations of European artists. Well into the 19th century, the classical tradition derived from Greece dominated the art of the western world.
Greek temples were, then, as much civic structures as they were sacred. The site of each temple was chosen for its political or social value, for example in a city-center or on the highest part of the city. Sacred sites or sanctuaries were strategically placed in and around the city in order to facilities ritual processions as well as bind together neighborhoods in religious observances.
This is a collection of 53 Greek Gods and Goddesses with very brief descriptions of each, a link to a Wikipedia article, along with an image and a link to the source of the image. The images are 200 pixels wide and a maximum of 300 pixels high. You can choose to view a Greek God of the Week, or you can choose to view a Random Greek God (random display every time the page refreshes).
Family Tree of the Greek Gods Transliterated forms of Greek names are used throughout the biography pages of the site rather than their Latin forms, e.g. Kirke instead of Circe, Ouranos for Uranus, Apollon in place of Apollo, etc. The index and introduction pages... use the Latin name-forms for ease of reference.
