Being involved in a Greek-letter organization provides various leadership opportunities on campus, in the community, within the local chapter and long after graduation. By getting involved in fraternity or sorority life, a Greek can gain first hand experience in supporting a leader, being a team player, working together, and leading others. Greeks at UNA are seen in different leadership roles across campus including SGA, UPC, Miss UNA, SOAR counselors and the LaGrange Society just to name a few.

The real reason that Greek organizations thrive—especially at Stanford—is friendship. Fraternities and sororities provide students with the chance to meet amazing individuals and form life-long friendships. At Stanford, Greek affiliation is a unique chance to be involved with a strong, continuous community over one's Stanford career. In 2007, 11 of the 43 recipients of the President’s Student Leadership and Service awards were members of the Greek community, including two of the eight recipients of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association Awards. In addition, in 2007, 21% of Orientation Leaders and 42% of New Student Weekend Co-Chairs were fraternity and sorority members.

While Ohio Wesleyan University has numerous student organizations, none can offer the same challenges and rewards as the Greek community.
