Saturday 12 May 2007: The third week of the live Grease is the Word knock out shows. The theme this week was songs from the musicals and Anthony was once again paired up with Alison and together they sung the Rod Stewart song 'Tonight's The Night' from the musical of the same name. After all the finalists had sung and the public votes had been added up it was announced that Anthony and Alison had managed to secure enough public votes to go through to next week's programme.

His production of Grease ran for seven years at the Dominion and Cambridge Theatres before returning to the Victoria Palace. It has ... played in many European and Asian cities. He has worked frequently in Australia where he recently directed the musical Footloose in Sydney and staged Jamie Oliver's hugely successful performances in both England and Australia.

The Broadway Musical, "Grease", originated in Chicago and, after beginning its Broadway run became the longest running musical in the history of theatre. Grease retained that record until it was broken by "A Chorus Line".

If you had to be a one-hit wonder on Broadway, you couldn't write a better classic rock-and-roll musical than Grease (1972). Creators Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, two music and theater friends in Chicago, wrote a play about greasers and their girls in a 1950s high school. Two off-Broadway producers suggested they turn it into a musical. The rest is theater history, and Grease went on to become, at the time, the longest-running Broadway musical, spawning two films, innumerable touring editions and countless regional revivals.

Miller, who has written several books on Broadway’s history, researches the origins of the musicals he produces for New Line, “Grease” included. Attendees should expect bawdier language, different songs and disparate character attitudes than what the sugarcoated movie presents.
